As part of the ongoing development of its plug-and-play product for model versioning, LieberLieber recently introduced LemonTree 2.5. For even easier handling, the tool is now directly integrated into Enterprise Architect and supports basic Git functions. In addition, a specially developed ISO 26262 Certification Kit is available, which makes certification much easier for companies.

Vienna, 12.2.2020 – In the course of further market penetration, LemonTree has received important improvements with Version 2.5. An Enterprise Architect Addin is now delivered with the LemonTree Setup. This enables the functions of LemonTree Desktop to be used directly from Enterprise Architect. In addition, basic Git functions are provided to facilitate the handling of .eap(x) files in Git. Dr. Konrad Wieland, responsible for LemonTree at LieberLieber: “Our approach for Release 2.5 was to be able to work on a model under Git control from one tool. From our rich project experience, we know the users’ desire to connect Enterprise Architect and Git more closely to make work easier and faster”.
The LemonTree Addin displays the list of inconsistencies of the loaded model. Additionally, a comparison of the currently loaded model with any other model, which is selectable via the file dialog with the LemonTree Desktop, is possible.

The features of the LemonTree Addin for Enterprise Architect

Working intuitively with Git

To further lower the barriers to embedding Git, basic functionality has now been integrated directly into LemonTree. Every change is prepared via a “feature branch”, in order to relieve the central development area (master) and only take over verified changes there. No matter how many changes have been made, they are merged into one task before being integrated back into the feature branch. Now the entire change is available for review before it is finally reintegrated into the central development area. “With this procedure, we ensure that only reviewed changes are transferred to the master and that no inconsistencies other than those found above occur there,” explains Wieland. This also means that the entire history of changes (Commit Log) is visible in Enterprise Architect. In this way, two revisions can be marked and compared with each other via LemonTree, if required.

With “Git Switch To” it is possible to switch to any other branch of the repository

Certification Kit for ISO 26262

With the new release, existing customers are also offered a specially developed ISO 26262 Certification Kit, which makes certification much easier for companies. For the tool environment and the restrictions, use cases and error scenarios considered in this document, the LemonTree 2.5 Desktop Version achieves a “tool confidence level” TCL of 1 and can be used up to ASIL D without further tool qualification steps. “We are very proud to be able to deliver the ISO 26262 Certification Kit with LemonTree 2.5. Together with our scientific partner Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT), we are thus providing our users with a certificate that gives them even more security in the environment of the specified standard”, Wieland concludes.

The new release LemonTree 2.5 is now available.
